Bringing all generations together
ERASMUS + SPORTS PROJECT with implementation between 01.01.2021. and 31.12.2022.
Open-water or coastal rowing is the relatively new type of rowing, kind of adventure side of this traditional sport. It involves rowing along a sea coast and/or out into the open sea. It is getting popular in Italy, France, Spain and Great Britain, to name a few, and has a steady-growing communities of rowers in these countries.
This project aims to bring together a number of teenage kids and the “older” population (60+) to learn new skills and do some shorter coastal tours.

Several ZOOM meetings were held between the partners, also new dates for meetings were agreed upon, as well as the date of the FISA Level 1 CRM course.

Limassol. Cyprus
Limassol Nautical Club, the largest and the best nautical club in Cyprus was our generous host during last weekend's 3rd transnational meeting of ERASMUS+ SPORTS project "Coastal Rowing - Bringing ALL Generations Together". The meeting was held in LNC headquarters close to the Limassol center and was followed by time-trial coastal beach sprint regatta in coastal single sculls. Members of our 4 clubs (C.C Saturnia - Trieste, UKS Szostka - Gdansk, VK Val - Split and of course hosts LNC all participated in this promotional event. Project design
"Coastal rowing Bringing all generations together" - project primary objective is to bring young and old people from less-developed countries and link it with a coastal rowing club in Italy, which has vast knowledge and quality equipment.
Innovative aspects
This project aims to reverse the present paradoxical situation regarding the sport of rowing in some countries with a historically strong maritime tradition on Mediterranean and Baltic Sea, like Italy, Croatia, Cyprus and Poland.
Project objectives
This project aims to bring together a number of club coaches and sports/managing directors from 4 clubs with the primary objective to teach them new - coastal rowing - skills, which are different than those they already have.
To become a good coastal rower, a person must be aware of waves, tides, currents and topography
